Welcome to Cactus Rose Needle Arts!
Cactus Rose Needle Arts was born from two lifelong dreams and a shared love of creativity, handmade crafts, and the fiber arts community.
For Derek, owning a yarn shop has been a dream for as long as he can remember! As a passionate knitter and crocheter from a very young age, he has always loved the joy that comes from creating something beautiful with yarn. Through countless projects, years of learning, and sharing his crafting journey with others, he imagined creating a place where fellow makers could find inspiration, quality products, and a welcoming community.
For Brent, the dream goes back just as far. Ever since he was a child, he dreamed of owning a store of his own. He loved the idea of building something meaningful, helping customers, and creating a place that people would enjoy visiting. Over the years, that dream remained in the back of his mind, waiting for the right opportunity.
Together, those dreams eventually came together and have become Cactus Rose Needle Arts!
As the Las Vegas area lost several local yarn and crafting shops in the last few years, they decided the time was now for them to bring their vision to the community and provide local yarn lovers, knitters, crocheters, and fiber artists with beautiful yarns, quality needles and accessories, and friendly service! Our desire is to be a place where creativity is encouraged and every project begins with excitement.
The name Cactus Rose Needle Arts reflects both our love for the Southwestern US and our appreciation for the beauty that can grow from creativity, patience, and passion. Like every handmade project, this business has been built one stitch at a time. You will be able to find both of us at our shop and will likely also meet Derek's Mom, Claudia, who relocated to Las Vegas from Texas to help start up the store!
We’re also proud to honor a very special member of our family through our brand. Many of our social media posts feature a cheerful West Highland White Terrier, inspired by Bella, their beloved Westie. Bella appeared in many of Derek’s knitting and crochet videos and was a constant companion during countless knitting and crocheting sessions. Although she passed away in 2022, her spirit remains part of our story, and our cartoon Westie serves as a loving tribute to her.
As we continue to grow, our mission remains simple: to provide quality products, inspire creativity, and help bring together a community of people who share a love for making things by hand.
